PROGRESS 2020

OUR COMMITMENTS

Progress 2020 is an initiative that looks to assist with a client’s supplier diversity and small business purchasing strategy.  Like all business strategies, appointing goals to track and grow said strategy are mandatory for a business to accurately gauge its effectiveness.

The commitments included in this initiative are self appointed goals we believe are positive first steps to help assist in the growth and development of the supplier diversity and small business industry.  Our commitments take a holistic approach in understanding supply chain impact by measuring data such as:

  • Amount of spend associated with small and diverse suppliers,
  • Jobs created from purchases, and
  • Depth of influence on Tier I suppliers.

We strive to accomplish these commitments by December 31st, 2020

In effect, our team pledges to pursue the following goals for the benefit of supplier diversity and small business:

PROGRESS 2020: THE FIVE COMMITMENTS

1) Track $100 billion in Annual Spend with Tier 1 Small and Diverse Suppliers

We commit to utilize the supplier.io Tier I Management and Reporting System and Data Enrichment service to track $100 billion in annual spend with small and diverse suppliers at a Tier 1 level.

What does this means?:  Total client purchases attributed to small and/or diverse suppliers will be tracked for this goal.

How does this benefit the industry?: We believe providing a management tool that can efficiently track purchases with small and diverse suppliers can help client’s gauge purchasing strategy performance and create an effective process to grow their supply chain(s).

2) Track $20 Billion in Annual Spend with Small & Diverse Suppliers at a Tier 2 Level

We commit to utilize the UniTier Platform to track $20 billion in annual spend with small and diverse suppliers at a Tier 2 level

What does this means?:  Total Tier 2 small and/or diverse supplier spend reported by Tier I Primes to their customers will be tracked for this goal.

How does this benefit the industry?: We believe that providing a streamlined solution to record Tier 2 spend for Corporations looking to track diverse and/or small business spend with their Tier I suppliers will 1) decrease reporting times, 2) improve the quality of submissions, and 3) increase the capability of supplier diversity and small business program growth.

3) 10,000 Small and Diverse Supplier Tier 2 Engagements.

We commit to utilize the UniTier Platform to track the Tier 2 reports, in which, at least 10,000 small and/or diverse suppliers will be included across all reports.

What does this means?:  Total Tier 2 small and/or diverse suppliers reported by Tier I Primes to their customers will be tracked for this goal.

How does this benefit the industry?: We believe that, in addition to providing spend data, understanding the number of suppliers utilized to obtain these dollar amounts is just as important (e.g. within the industry, it is important to understand if organizations are spending money with 10 or 100 suppliers to hit $1 million in Tier 2 Spend).

4) Track Half a Million Jobs Created with Diverse Suppliers Annually

We commit to utilize the supplier.io Economic Impact Report to track half a million jobs created with diverse suppliers annually

What does this means?:  Total jobs that can be directly attributed to purchases made with small and/or diverse suppliers will be tracked in this goal.

How does this benefit the industry?: We believe that the definition of a successful supplier diversity and small business program includes more than purchases made with suppliers.  Taking the strategy one step further to measure the impact of spend on jobs created and overall GDP gives insight to the industry’s effectiveness on a local, regional, and national scale.

5) Help Customers Find at Least $1 Billion in Previously Unidentified Spend with Small and Diverse Suppliers in Current Supply Base

We commit to utilize the supplier.io Data Enrichment service to help customers find at least $1 billion in lost spend with small and diverse suppliers in current supply bases

What does this means?:  Previously unaccounted small and/or diverse businesses located within a customer(s)’ supply chain will be identified with attributed total spend recorded.

How does this benefit the industry?: We believe that many, if not all supply chains are currently purchasing from small and/or diverse suppliers.  Our objective is to identify all qualified small and/or diverse businesses not currently recognized, to help supply chain programs better understand their current supplier diversity and small business standing.  This, in turn, can help a corporation develop an effective supply chain strategy for their circumstance.
